How can I stretch for the splits?

I want to be able to do the splits. And I can’t find any stretching techniques. I’m close, maybe 2 or 3 inches. What are some stretching techniques I could use and about how long will it take for me to get it?

there is one way to stretch that i have found particularly good. you go in to a deep lunge, where your back leg is straight and close to the ground as possible. Then you extend your front leg as far as it will go, and stay there for a while. I just got my splits today, using this technique, and i was about as far as you. It depends on your natural flexibility, though. good luck! :)
