A pain from stretching in the leg?

by admin on June 2, 2010

About 6 months ago, I think I over stretched my leg. So now when ever I sit for long periods of times, my right leg (the back above the back of the knee) hurts. Since I am going on a long flight soon, is there anything I can do to make sure it doesn’t hurt?

Sounds like the muscle is partially pinched and the sitting in one position for too long allows the muscle to cramp up. The muscle needs to be released for that pain to go away. Here is how you can release that muscle:
While sitting in a chair, feet flat on the floor, bent at the knees, wrap both hands around the muscle just behind the knee and squeeze and hold a good amount of pressure on the leg. Now relax the rest of your body. After holding the pressure on the muscle for one minute, slowly slide that foot forward until the leg is fully extended, then release the pressure but continue to hold your leg extended for another 30 seconds. You should be ready to go after doing this.
